Hey,
I’m Dahab, an e-commerce manager based in the United Kingdom with a background in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Management from the University of Hertfordshire.
Beyond my professional work, I’m passionate about sharing insights on e-commerce trends, digital strategies, and business growth through my blog.
But it’s not just about business,I also write about personal growth, life experiences, and the human connections that shape who we are. I believe that behind every transaction, click, and strategy is a person. My writing reflects this belief, aiming to bridge the gap between technology and the people who use it..
My Experience
Over the years, I have been fortunate to build a career that sits at the crossroads of business, technology and people. From managing complex e-commerce platforms to leading teams and community projects, my journey has been about learning, growing and making a meaningful impact.
Building Success Across E-Commerce Platforms
Currently, I work as an E-Commerce Manager and Sales Coordinator at Alami International in the UK. My role covers a variety of platforms including Amazon Vendor, Amazon Seller, eBay, Range, Wayfair, Shopify, TikTok Shop, and our own company website. It has been exciting to be part of a team where I manage these channels, optimise sales and improve the overall customer experience across different markets.
One of the highlights was leading the launch of a well-known international baby care brand into the Indian market with Amazon India. It was a rewarding challenge to coordinate with different teams and navigate the complexities of a new market. At the moment, I am also working on expanding our presence on one of the UK’s largest e-commerce websites and am involved in the final stages of negotiation there.
Alongside new projects, I have worked hard to make our operations smoother, improving efficiency by over 20% through better processes and tracking. On the sales front, I have been able to grow revenue by 18% through upselling and building strong relationships with international clients.
Experience in Sales and Distribution
Before moving to the UK, I gained valuable experience as an Assistant Ecommerce Manager at Mars Industries in India. Managing nationwide distribution and credit facilities taught me a great deal about logistics, financial operations and negotiation.
I enjoyed negotiating business terms that created stronger partnerships and ensured smooth delivery of goods. I was also responsible for the company’s e-commerce presence on Amazon and Flipkart, making sure our product listings were always competitive and up to date.
Leading with Purpose
Leadership has always been close to my heart. During university, I co-founded a society that helped students overcome public speaking anxiety and develop social confidence. It was deeply fulfilling to support over one hundred people through counselling and guidance, and to see them grow.
I also founded Warm Hearts, an initiative dedicated to providing food and support to homeless and needy people. This work has shaped how I see my role beyond the workplace and inspired me to keep making a difference wherever I can.
Skills and Technology
Along with practical experience, I have developed skills in digital marketing and tools essential to today’s e-commerce world. I am comfortable using HubSpot, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Mailchimp, Zoho Marketing, Canva, GS1, Media Valet, Later, Slack, and WordPress, as well as understanding SEO principles to boost online visibility. I am also experienced in email marketing campaigns and have basic knowledge of Asana for project management.
My background in computer science adds a technical edge, allowing me to understand and collaborate effectively across teams. I have basic programming skills and a good grasp of coding languages such as Python, Java, SQL, HTML and CSS.
Academic Journey and Recognition
I earned my Master’s degree in Management with Distinction from the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield. The programme was broad and dynamic, covering key areas such as leadership, analytics, supply chain management, human resources, sales and marketing, and strategy. This comprehensive education gave me versatile business skills that I apply every day in my professional life.
Prior to that, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at DY Patil International University in Pune, India, graduating with Distinction. During my studies, I gained hands-on experience with programming languages like Python and Java, as well as technologies such as SQL, HTML and CSS. I also explored cloud computing concepts, which helped deepen my technical foundation.
I was honoured to represent India at the 16th International Conference of Chief Justices of the World, addressing an audience of 175 Chief Justices. I was also awarded a certificate from the United Nations for my volunteer work teaching moral education. Earlier in life, I served as Deputy Head Boy at City Montessori School, the world’s largest school.
Looking Forward
I see myself as a forward-thinking professional, ready to embrace change and technology with enthusiasm. I am passionate about helping brands grow, expanding into new markets and using digital tools to make every customer’s journey better and simpler.
Every day is an opportunity to learn something new and improve. I am excited about the future and confident in my ability to meet whatever challenges come next.
